- Psychologist & Director - Gryphon Management Consultants (2000 - )
Consulting and contracting predominantly in the public and private health industry. IT support (particularly SIR, HRIS and Lotus Domino), e-business development and cultural change the major services offered. Award Information Service, project management of payroll systems and support for the Heartbase clinical patient management system.
- Psychologist & HR Systems Director - SIAG (1996-2000)
Minor shareholding in SIAG when the entity was 3 years old with a staff complement of about 12 people. Responsible for the design and construction of all IT facilities, web hosting, telecommunications, a virtual private network and jointly responsible for designing the HR service delivery model (HR outsourcing, call centre and information distribution). Instrumental in growing the organization to around 70 employees with offices in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne and a turnover around $5m. Larger on-site HR outsourced clients included Epworth, Peter Mac, Pacific Access, Mercy Health & Aged Care along with support for licenced clubs associations, REIV, private hospitals and aged care establishments.
- Principal Consultant - Gryphon Management Consultants (1993-1996)
Consultancy assignments in the areas of IT and HR with some individual psychological counselling. Clients and assignments included cultural change programs in City of Kingston, Shire of Indigo; survey design & analysis in Ansair Pty Ltd, Laminex Industries, Bunge Ballarat, Coopers & Lybrand; IT systems management & development in Yarra Valley Water, Melbourne Parks & Waterways, Victorian Plantations Corporation, Metropolitan Fire Brigades Board, Mitre 10
Developed two specialist software products both written in SIR/DBMS - Survey Analysis Database (SAD), a universal generic analysis tool designed for analysing and reporting upon any survey; and Training Needs Analysis System (TNAS), a specialised analysis system and methodology for undertaking skills audits and identifying training needs.
- Manager, Computer Services - VECCI (1987-93)
As a member of the VECCI senior management team, developed the means by which corporate communications and information technology were employed within the organisation and used to support the client base. Managed the development of the facilities, then the outsourcing of services along with design of membership, IR, financial and time and billing systems.
- Manager, Information Systems - Department of Labour (1985-87)
Planned and implemented a state wide communications network, EDP facilities and office automation system to provide for a new regional based department. Responsible for the development and operation of apprenticeship, financial and labour market computerised systems.
- Principal Projects Officer - Industrial Democracy Policy Ministry of Industrial Affairs (1983-85)
Responsible for formulating Victorian government policy in the area of industrial democracy and developing strategies to give effect to practical programs including advice to public sector employers and unions on ID and general industrial relations matters, formulation of a government policy statement, liaison with state and federal government departments and the design and implementation of a public access computerised award analysis system.
- Principal Industrial Officer - Remuneration Policy Telecom (1979-83)
Involved in industrial relations research, policy formulation and general HR activities particularly in regard to staff mobility, EEO, staff communication strategies, executive remuneration and workforce restructuring. Responsible for negotiating solutions to industrial issues, conducting organisational reviews and investigations, providing industrial advice to senior management, developing policy, formulating industrial strategy and responding to union claims.
- Senior Technical Officer - Telecom Research Labs (1966-79)
Managed the laboratory facility in the Human Communications area involved in group communications, information exchange networks and human factors experimentation. Responsible for technical training within the Department.
